The hospital offers a variety of volunteer opportunities.

Volunteers must be 14 and older and must have entered high school. Volunteers give the hospital four daytime hours or two evening/weekend hours of service each week and must have two personal references.

After completing an application, prospective volunteers attend an orientation session, which are held each year in January, March, May, September and November. That's followed by an interview.

In addition to receiving the satisfaction of helping others, volunteers get discounts at the hospital gift shop, are recognized during Volunteer Recognition Week, get free annual flu shots and take part in an annual service awards program.
