Relaunched in Elmhurst after years on Chicago's North Side, the traditional Greek dance troupe Ellas Dancers of Chicago is led in part by Western Springs resident Tom Papadopoulos, The Doings Western Springs reports.
Papadopoulos began dancing in Greek school at age 7 or 8 and got involved with a professional Greek dancing troupe at age 15; his Ellas Dancers perform up to 50 times a year, the paper reported.
"They say dancing is a form of expression and passion," Papadopoulos told the paper. "I get to connect that part of my life and my self with hundred of years of Greek tradition."
