Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Tuesday Night: National Weather Service

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for our area tonight. Storm could produce winds of over 60 mph.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the Chicagoland area for tonight until Wednesday at 2 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service, the storm system is capable of creating winds that could reach up to 60 mph. The big danger there is from objects being thrown into the air and from trees falling down.

If you have lightweight outdoor furniture, it would be best to secure it, or bring it inside your house or garage to avoid it possibly ending up in your living room.

Currently we're looking at partly cloudy skies tonight, but according to AOL Weather, the thunderstorms could begin to roll through out area as soon as 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

It's looking like it will be a stormy day all day tomorrow and through tomorrow evening.

We'll keep you updated with more information as we get it.

You're welcome LO. It didn't seem like it hit us as hard as they expected, but better safe than have the trash all over your lawn! Storms are supposed to hit again tonight around 8 or 9 p.m.
