TV Show Filming at Prasino Draws a Crowd
A Prasino manager said that nearly 300 people showed up for the filming of the show "Check, Please!" in the La Grange restaurant.
Nearly 300 people flooded La Grange's Prasino restaurant on Friday evening for the filming of WWTW's restaurant-spotlight show Check, Please!, The Doings La Grange reports.
Check, Please! spotlights Chicago and Chicagoland restaurants with a focus on "real-people" reviews provided by guest reviewers. After a Check, Please! guest reviewer visits a restaurant, the show visits the location to interview chefs and staff and get interior shots of the location.
Prasino emphasizes local produce, organic products and grass-fed beef, and offers vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free meals.
No La Grange or La Grange Park restaurant has previously been featured on Check, Please!, although Vie in Western Springs has, as well as Xni-Pec de Yucatan in Brookfield. (The majority of the restaurants the show profiles are in the city or on the North Side.)
The Prasino episode of Check, Please will run later this autumn.

Good for them...it's about time. My beef (pun) w/Check Please is that I wish they would do more geographically themed shows: Best of the Western Subs, etc. Unfortunately they still think it's the 1980/1990's and the majority of their audience is Lincoln &/or Wicker Park! There's plenty of great local and affordable cuisine (Amber, Topaz, Prasino, etc) nearby. It may take a little effort to find but your supporting local communities as well as helping employ your neighbors!
