Someone's Been in the Concrete

Someone intentionally damaged a newly poured slab of concrete in the lower level of Spring Rock Park on Friday sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The damage was estimated at $300.

SUNDAY, NOV. 18

Holiday Lights Stolen

Someone stole several holiday light decorations from the front yard of a home on the 4000 block of Rose Avenue sometime between 7:00 p.m. on Friday and 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. The value of the theft was not reported.

SATURDAY, NOV. 17

Teen Charged in Hit-and-Run

Timothy M. Taylor, 18, of the 1400 block of 52nd Place, La Grange, was arrested at the Western Springs Police Department at 11:45 a.m., police said. He was charged with leaving the scene of a non-injury vehicle crash at the corner of Ogden and Wolf avenues that occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m. Friday.

FRIDAY, NOV. 16

Indiana People Charged in Check Fraud

Ryan P. Chmielewski, 19, of 523 Ridgelawn Drive, Hobart, IN, and Lauren K. Holl, 23, of 9040 Ohio Place, Highland, IN, were arrested at the Western Springs Police Department at 5:30 p.m. and charged with using stolen personal checks to make $54 in purchases in an incident originally reported on Nov. 8, police said.

Failed Break-In in Springdale

Someone attempted to break into a home on the 5000 block of Caroline Avenue "with the likely intent to commit a burglary" sometime between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Police found that the rear entry door to the home was damaged wtih a "prying-type tool," but entry to the house was not gained. The damage to the door was estimated at $300.

THURSDAY, NOV. 15

Credit-Card Fraud Charge

Eric L. Johnson, 39, of the 3400 block of Kentshire Circle, Aurora, was arrested at the Western Springs Police Department after police said their investigation confirmed he had used a credit card stolen from the 4200 block of Clausen Avenue on September 13 to make unauthorized purchases totaling $321.

Wrong Part of the School?

A 16-year-old Western Springs boy was arrested at Lyons Township High School South Campus at 1:20 p.m. and charged with criminal trespass to school property during school hours.

And Here's Your Illegal Driver of the Week

Domenick Lo Cascio, 42, of the 5000 block of Wolf Road, was stopped for failure to signal at the corner of Park Place and Lawn Drive at 9:39 a.m. and was charged wtih driving on a suspended license, police said.
