WSPD Blotter: $320 Bike Ripped Off, LTHS Kid Attacks Officer

Here's the Western Springs police blotter from Jan. 30 through Feb. 6.

 

Incidents/Reports

Wednesday, Feb. 2, 8:35 p.m.; Theft: Someone stole an unattended, locked men's bicycle from one of the public bike racks at the Western Springs Train Station sometime between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.; the bike was valued at $320. The lock and chain were not found.

Citations/Charges

Tuesday, Jan. 31, 8:28 a.m.; No Valid Driver's License, Speeding, No Insurance: Oscar Castillo-Dominguez, 29, of 4408 Prairie Ave., McHenry, was stopped for speeding on the 3800 block of Ellington Avenue and charged with driving without a license.

Thursday, Feb. 2, 11:09 p.m.; Driving While License Revoked, Arrest Warrant, Speeding: Zane B. Bigman, 36, of 14297 Shabbona Rd., Shabbona, was stopped at the intersection of Ogden Avenue and I-294 and was charged with driving with a revoked license. The defendant also had an outstanding arrest warrant from DeKalb County for a domestic battery charge.

Friday, Feb. 3, 11:48 a.m.; Assault, Resisting a Peace Officer, Disorderly Conduct: A 15-year-old La Grange Park boy was arrested at Lyons Township High School South Campus for "causing a disturbance;" when police arrived, the boy assaulted an officer and resisted arrest. There were no injuries resulting from the incident.

Saturday, Feb. 4, 2:26 a.m.; Driving While License Suspended: Juan D. Becerra, 18, of 2527 Kenilworth Ave., Berwyn, was stopped after entering Spring Rock Park after the park was closed and was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

Persons charged with a crime, or issued a citation for violation of a local ordinance, are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
