Early Literacy Parent/Caregiver Workshops

Thomas Ford Memorial Library is providing two workshops for parents/caregivers interested in learning how they can help children develop the skills they need to become strong readers.

Before children can learn to read, they must develop a range of early literacy skills. Learning these skills, which begins at birth, has a long-term  impact on children’s reading achievement and academic success. Parents will learn about early literacy and why it’s important. As children’s first teachers, parents are in the best position to help children develop these skills. This workshop presents the five early literacy practices along with interactive activities that parents, caregivers and children can enjoy together.

Monday, September 9, 10:30-11:30 a.m. or 7-8 p.m. Please register by calling 708-246-0520 or online at fordlibrary.org.
