WIU Alumni Pens ATF Crime Novel Inspired By Actual Events

Retired ATF officer Mark Rusin of Lombard will discuss his debut novel Justice for Dallas at Lexington Square Lombard on Wednesday, November 13 at 2 p.m.  Rusin formerly worked as an inspector for U.S. Customs, security director for Chicago Savings and Loan, and a special agent for the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) before retiring locally and accepting a position as evening security guard for Lexington Square Lombard.

Justice for Dallas is a fictional account based on the real life murder of a family in 1984.  As an ATF officer, Rusin investigated the crime and it haunted him for years “It was an unbelievable investigation from beginning to end and I just had to write about it,” said Rusin. “I worked on the book for seven years.”  It was published last month, and is available on amazon.com as well as on www.markrusin.com

The residents of Lexington have been interested in Rusin’s background and curious about his novel.  “I will talk a little bit about how the book came to be, and we’ll do a book signing,” said Rusin.  The event is free and open to the public.  For additional information call 630-576-4800.
