Grace Lutheran Installs New Pastor Sunday, May 18

Community is invited to a welcoming reception for Rev. Matthew Zickler at Grace Lutheran Church of Western Springs this Sunday.

Grace Lutheran Church of Western Springs will install a new pastor, Matthew Zickler, this Sunday, May 18, at 3 p.m. A reception will immediately follow the installation and all are welcome.

Rev. Zickler, 32, comes to Grace from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oak Lawn, where he was assistant pastor. He is a graduate of Indiana University, and received a divinity degree from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne in 2010.  He previously served as vicar at Messiah Lutheran Church in Seattle, WA. He and his wife Jessica have three children.

“Everyone has told me what a wonderful town Western Springs is, and so Jessica and I are very excited to be coming there,” Rev. Zickler said.  “I am eagerly anticipating serving the people of Grace and hope that by God’s grace we will be able nurture this already strong and stable congregation into a pillar of the community by extending the love of Jesus Christ in both word and deed.”
