Join in the MayFest Celebration this Sunday!

On the heels of one of our worst winters in history, the Western Springs Historical Society invites families to an afternoon of old-fashioned family fun.

This Sunday, May 4, the Western Springs Historical Society invites families to participate in an afternoon of carnival games, old-fashioned entertainment, food and crafts.   The event will take place Sunday, May 4, from 2 to 5 pm at the Tower Green.

Carnival games will include nostalgic favorites like the milk can toss, bucket drop, and a scavenger hunt in the Water Tower with a raffle prize. Entertainment will feature a juggler, unicyclists, and the Western Springs-based Allegro fiddle and dance ensemble. You can even take a ride in an antique Model A Ford!

Food will include lemonade, popcorn, cotton candy and an old-fashioned candy table. Craft tables will offer boys and girls the opportunity to create crafts from another time, like May baskets, crowns and pennants. Children, preschool through grade 4th grade, can participate in a coloring contest. Entertainment is free, and tickets for food, crafts and games can be purchased at the event.
