Wheaton——A man who worked as a live-in babysitter in Wheaton was sentenced to 12 years and seven months in federal prison for transporting and possessing child pornography.
Lisle——Gerald Lombardi and his son, Jerry, of Downers Grove, were charged along with former Cook County Commissioner Joseph Mario Moreno, former Chicago Alderman Ambrosio Medrano and other suburban businessmen.
Downers Grove——Jim Stavropoulos said he plans to open a new restaurant in Schaumburg and to sue the village of Downers Grove.
Glen Ellyn——The Village of Glen Ellyn is still in the process of assessing the amount of damage and the costs incurred related to the freak storm that hit earlier in July, but costs associated with the storm could reach $300,000.
La Grange/La Grange Park——La Grange has been selected the No. 1 top transit suburb of Metropolitan Chicago, according to a study released today by the Chaddick Institute for Metropolitan Development based at DePaul University in Chicago.
