Patch Roundup: Gunfire at Dominican University, Neo-Nazi Candidate's Holocaust Denial

Also this week: remembering The Monkees' Davy Jones in St. Charles, a lawsuit filed against the officer who shot a teenager and a Wheaton College professor charged with possession of child pornography.

If you'd prefer to start off your weekend with carefree, light news... this week's edition of West Suburban Patch Roundup might not be for you. (Skip to the end for a great La Grange story about home brewing!)

But if gunfire, crime and other such examples of discord intrigue you, dig right in. We have everything from a murder-trial update to an unrepentant neo-Nazi to a professor in possession of underage pornography. We do also have a memorial to the great singer Davy Jones and a story about Lisle parents hoping to help others avoid the drug mistakes that trouble their son.

Check out any or all of the following:

Burr Ridge——Are special education cooperatives more cost effective than schools receiving funding directly? One school district is close to answering that question for itself and making a decision as to whether it will pull out of the one to which it belongs.

La Grange/La Grange Park——Palmer Place in La Grange recently hosted a home brew tasting, letting residents sample a variety of homemade beers and ask questions of a local expert.
