Here are some of the top stories from the past two weeks in Patch's west Chicago region:

Downers Grove—United Central Bank in Downers Grove Robbed by Masked Gunman—Police are still searching for a white man wearing a black ski mask, black hooded sweatshirt and jeans, who allegedly robbed the bank at gunpoint around 11:09 a.m. Thursday.

Batavia—Armed Robbery Reported at Old Second Bank in Batavia—The robbery occurred in the morning, and the suspect had a semi-automatic handgun, police said. Here's a description.

Elmhurst——The body has positively been identified as Russell Winkler, 45, of Bensenville; coroner has not yet released toxicology report.

Glen Ellyn—No Injuries in Great Clips Armed Robbery Thursday Morning—Police said a man who appeared to be about 35 years old, 5'10" and 230 pounds robbed the Great Clips on Roosevelt Road on Thursday morning.

La Grange/La Grange Park/Western Springs—E! News snagged a photo of the Hollywood celebrity couple grabbing brunch at the La Grange restaurant.

Hinsdale/Clarendon Hills/Burr Ridge—Georgia Man Lived 10 Days With Missing Hinsdale Mom Before Her Arrest—Missing mom Linda Fellenbaum took a job as a live-in housekeeper for a Georgia man after she disappeared from Joliet.

Wheaton—Wheaton Man Charged in Stabbing—A Wheaton man is charged after reportedly stabbing a man in West Chicago over $40.

Darien/Woodridge—Police: Downers Grove Teen Drove Drunk Into Woodridge Home—Police said Ryan Kujawa struck a vehicle, garage, traffic sign, street sign and two trees before overturning his car at 75th Street and Janes Avenue Dec. 21.

Oak Park/River Forest/Forest Park—Police Investigate More Abduction Attempts in Oak Park—Police are investigating a report that a man tried to lure three teen boys into his van near Harlem Avenue and Lake Street on Wednesday.

Naperville——ABC's Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Lt. Governor Shelia Simon stopped by The Tie Bar in Naperville to advocate for gay marriage in Illinois on Wednesday afternoon.

Lemont—Darien Woman Killed in Lemont After Striking Gravel Truck—Woman was a passenger in a car driven by her husband on Route 83 near Archer Avenue in unincorporated Lemont when their car struck a gravel truck from behind, police say.

Geneva—Family Pantry Owner Charged With Selling Illegal Fireworks—Geneva police arrested Chiragkumar Chavda, 39, of Streamwood on Dec. 27 for offering retail sale of fireworks at his business.

St. Charles—2 Drivers Sent to Hospital After Minivans Crash Sunday on Fabyan Parkway—Both vans sustained heavy damage, officials said. Here are more details.

My understanding was that the village only bought it so they could split the back yard off from theRead More main lot use the back lot for some kind of village use with the rec center and then sell off the house. The original lot used to go all the way back to the rec center.
