Play Ball in Western Springs, Retro-Style

Through the decades, kids in Western Springs have always enjoyed baseball!

These boys are enjoying playing baseball in a vacant lot between 4224 Central and Chestnut. While the photo has no specific date, volunteers at the Western Springs Historical Society Archives guess it may be in the 1940's. Any other guesses?  

These days, boys in Western Springs recently celebrated Opening Day of Little League on Saturday, May 7. They play on fields around town, wearing bright-colored uniforms and have the support and training of their coaches.
