About Benjamin Beilman

Violinist
Benjamin Beilman's "handsome technique, burnished sound and quiet
confidence showed why he has come so far so fast" (The New York Times). He
is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, both a 2012 Avery Fisher Career
Grant and a 2012 London Music Masters Award. Most recently, he was awarded a
Borletto-Buitoni Trust Fellowship, which helps outstanding young musicians
develop and sustain international careers.  Mr. Beilman made his Carnegie
Hall concerto debut in 2010 with the New York Youth Symphony in Stern
Auditorium; additional concerto debuts include appearances with the London
Philharmonic at Royal Festival Hall, the Los Angeles and Indianapolis Chamber
Orchestras, the Buffalo and Chicago Philharmonics, and the Fort Worth and

Mr. Beilman
previously studied with Almita and Roland Vamos at the Music Institute of
Chicago, Ida Kavafian and Pamela Frank at the Curtis Institute of Music, and
Christian Tetzlaff at the Kronberg Academy.

"We
first met Ben Beilman while teaching at the Atlanta Summer Suzuki Institute,”
said Ed Kreitman, Director of the Western Springs School of Talent Education. “
It was clear, even at the young age of 6 or 7 that he was an extraordinary
talent.”

When
circumstances allowed the Beilman family to make a career move, they chose
Western Springs, so that that Ben and his sister, Elizabeth could study at the
WSSTE.  According to Kreitman, “We found
both of the kids to be wonderful students to work with, and they traveled on
tour with our Chicago Consort group on several occasions."
