  • Edward Bluhm, 82, of Western Springs. Memorials can be made to Bethesda Lutheran Home, Watertown, WI; Concordia Seminary Student Tuition Fund, St. Louis, MO; or Seaspar, Downers Grove.
  • James Martin Tilden, 61, of Western Springs, passed away Oct. 3. The former Western Springs trustee was also the village's 1999 "Man of the Year."
  • Theodore Zaggy, 89, of Western Springs. The U.S. Navy veteran worked at the Naval Reserve until his retirement. Among many other accomplishments, he served as the President of the Village Club of Western Springs.
  • Donald G. Husch, 85, of La Grange. The U.S. Air Force National Guard veteran was a longtime news editor of the Chicago Tribune. Donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

Hitzeman Funeral Home

  • Bernice H. Masunas (née Kishkunas), 99, of La Grange Park. Visitation will be held Oct. 16 at the funeral home.
  • Loraine Schulz, 93, of La Grange Park, passed away Oct. 14. The television industry veteran produced the Romper Room, among other shows. She was also an ordained minister.
  • Stephanie L. Maslanka (née Stelmach), 95, of La Grange Park and River Forest. Visitation will be held Oct. 18 at the funeral home.
  • Milton L. Miller, 92, of La Grange Park. The WWII U.S. Coast Guard veteran was also a longtime member of the "Grumpies."


  • Francis A. Schima, 82, of La Grange. Services took place at St. Francis Xavier Church.
