2 Injured in Ogden Avenue T-Bone Accident

SATURDAY, SEPT. 21

Turn Signal Confusion


A 59-year-old man from Williston, VT, was cited for failure to yield after he turned his 2013 Ford Focus right out of the Dominick's parking lot and onto eastbound 47th Street at 9:39 a.m. and struck a 2012 Ford Explorer traveling eastbound with its right turn signal on, police said.

Neither driver was injured, but both vehicles were damaged.

Be Careful Backing Out


A 73-year-old Western Springs woman was cited for improper backing after she backed her 2003 Toyota Avalon out of a parking spot in the 900 block of Burlington Avenue at 2:05 p.m. and her rear bumper struck a 2010 BMW 528 Series traveling eastbound, police said. 

No injuries were reported, but both vehicles were damaged.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 19

Uninsured Driver Rear-ends SUV


A 23-year-old La Grange woman driving a 2000 Ford Mustang was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving without insurance after she rear-ended a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe while traveling south in the 5900 block of Wolf Road near Plainfield Road at 6:17 p.m., police said.

Neither driver was injured, but both vehicles were damaged.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 18

More Back Problems


A 61-year-old man from Thiensville, WI, was cited for improper backing, police said, after the trailer he was pulling with his 2007 Volvo FE Series truck damaged the driver-side mirror and door of a 2013 Chrysler 300 while he attempted to back out of the left-turn lane on westbound Ogden Avenue at Wolf Road at 12:42 p.m. 

The Chrysler was waiting on westbound Ogden for the light at Wolf to change. Neither driver was injured, but both vehicles were damaged.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 17

Lane-Change Collision


A 17-year-old Hinsdale girl driving a 2003 Toyota Sequoia at 7:33 a.m. damaged her own vehicle and the 1999 Chrysler Sebring of a 48-year-old Westmont woman, police said, when the Sequoia changed from a center lane right to the right lane on eastbound Ogden Avenue near Woodland Avenue and struck the Sebring, which was traveling the same direction behind another vehicle.

There were no injuries reported.

Injuries Reported in Ogden Collision


A 21-year-old Romeoville woman driving a 2013 Hyundai was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after she t-boned a 2011 Chevy Malibu driven by a 21-year-old Plainfield woman at the intersection of Ogden and Hampton avenues at 4:52 p.m., police said.

The Malibu was traveling eastbound on Ogden through the intersection when its passenger side was hit by the Hyundai's front bumper, police said, as the Romeoville driver attempted to turn onto westbound Ogden from northbound Hampton. 

Both vehicles were damaged and both drivers suffered minor injuries. The Plainfield woman was transported to Adventist Hinsdale Hospital.
