3 Underage Drinkers, Stolen Bike, Warrant Arrest: Police Blotter

Sunday, May 19

2 underage drinkers

A 17-year-old Western Springs boy was cited with consumption of alcohol by a minor after an officer checked on his well being around 12:15 a.m. in the 900 block of 54th Street, Western Springs police said. The teen was walking with a group in the street.

Officers later arrested Viviana A. Cockriel, 19, of the 4000 block of DuBois in Brookfield, around 1:55 a.m. in the 3800 block of Woodland Avenue, police said. Police responded to a call about a verbal fight between two people in the street and found that Cockriel had been drinking, according to the report. She was cited with consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Saturday, May 18

Another underage drinker

Joseph B. Galin, 18, of the 300 block of South 8th Avenue in La Grange, was arrested around 11:58 p.m. in the 1100 block of Birch Lane, police said. Galin ran away from a police officer and was then stopped and cited with consumption of alcohol by a minor, police said.

Tuesday, May 14

Stolen bike

A woman’s bicycle was stolen from a rack near the intersection of Hillgrove and Grand avenues sometime between 8:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m., police said. The bike, which was not locked, was worth about $600.

Monday, May 13

License, insurance violations

Latanya M. Hollister, 29, of the 0-99 block of Fernwood Drive in Bolingbrook, was arrested around 2:41 p.m. near the intersection of Ogden and Woodland avenues, police said. She was pulled over for speeding and charged with driving with a suspended license and without insurance.

Sunday, May 12

Warrant arrest

Timothy P. O’Brien, 46, of the 400 block of Ironwood Drive in Des Plaines, was arrested around 3:04 p.m. near the intersection of Johnson and Ogden avenues, police said. An officer pulled him over for failing to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk, the report said. The officer performed a records check and found that O’Brien was wanted by the Glen Ellyn Police Department on a drug warrant. O’Brien was arrested on that warrant, and also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after the officer found an item used for drugs in his pocket.
