$300 Ruse-Entry Burglary

An elderly couple on the 1200 block of Cleveland Avenue reported that they became victims of a ruse-entry burglary when one man took the husband into the basement to discuss a “plumbing problem,” and one or two additional men entered the home, told the wife they were there to help and stole $300 in cash.


Illegal Driver I

Hiram Torres, 31, of the 5100 block of West 64th Place, Chicago, was stopped at the corner of Barnsdale Road and 31st Street at 4:29 p.m. for lack of a front registration plate and was charged with driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance, police said.


Illegal Driver II

Jeffery D. Butler, 52, of the 300 block of North Lorel Avenue, Chicago, was stopped on the 1100 block of Beach Avenue at 3:53 p.m. for disobeying a traffic sign and was charged with driving with a suspended license, police said.

Illegal Driver III

Nicholas Capuozzi, 24, of the 500 block of Andy Drive, Melrose Park, was stopped at the corner of 31st Street and Raymond Avenue, for an expired registration at 12:11 a.m. and was charged with driving with a suspended license and an expired registration, police said.


Illegal Driver IV

Laura L. Grisafe, 51, of the 400 block of Beach Avenue, was charged with driving with a suspended license after being involved in an accident at the corner of 31st Street and Ostrander Avenue at 5:27 p.m., police said

Domestic Violence

A 25-year-old La Grange Park man was arrested on a charge of domestic battery at 4:24 a.m. on the 600 block of Barnsdale Road, police said.
