Woman Charged with Trespass in July Incident: Western Springs Police Blotter

Western Springs police reports, Oct. 8-15.

SUNDAY, OCT. 14

Burglary No. 1

Someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the 4700 block of Fair Elms Avenue sometime between 1:30 p.m. Friday and 12 p.m. Sunday and stole a GPS unit and $10 in coins. The value of the GPS unit was not estimated.

Burglary No. 2

A burglar entered an unoccupied home on the 5300 block of Central Avenue through the front door sometime between 10:20 a.m. and 11 p.m. and stole $100 in cash from a purse and some jewelry from a first-floor bedroom. The value of the jewelry has not yet been estimated.

Burglary No. 3

Someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway on the 5100 block of Woodland Avenue sometime between 9 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday and stole a backpack containing a computer device valued at approximately $2,000.

THURSDAY, OCT. 11

Arrest Made in July Incident

Laurie Nelson, 52, of the 4400 block of Clausen Avenue, was charged with criminal trespass to a residence after a police investigation implicated her in an incident involving a garage originally reported on July 28.

MONDAY, OCT. 8

Tailgater Without License

Gheorghe Bura, 49, of the 2800 block of Summerdale Avenue, Chicago, was stopped at the corner of Ogden Avenue and Interstate 294 for following a vehicle too closely and was charged with driving without a valid license, police said.
