The Chicago Tribune reports that "alcohol was a factor" in the crash, which also killed a second man, and that X-rays were necessary to identify the bodies.

A La Grange man was killed in a car crash in Michigan's New Buffalo Townshop on Sunday at 12:37 a.m. after, police believe, his car ran a stop sign, hit a tree and exploded, the Chicago Tribune reports.

According to the paper, police found the 2012 Volkswagen Passat of Aleksandra A. Strikas, 22, engulfed in flames and required X-rays to identify Strikas' body, as well as that of Matthew R. Ross, 25, of Harbert, Michigan.

The paper also reported that the Berrien County Sheriff said an autopsy revealed that "alcohol was a factor in the crash."
