------------

An unknown burglar broke into the Honey Bee Cafe, 24 47th St., between 3 p.m. Jan. 22 and 4:40 a.m. Jan. 23 and stole $500 in cash from the business, according to the Western Springs Police Department.

The burglar or burglars forced entry to the restaurant by breaking a window during non-business hours. The Honey Bee is typically open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The burglary was reported at 4:44 a.m. Jan. 23.

"It is unknown if this burglary is related or associated with the previous residential burglaries that were described in last week’s crime alert," a statement from the police department reads.

A department release last week advised residents to be vigilant after five residential burglaries were reported during a three-week stretch.
