La Grange police reports, Nov. 8-12.


Checks Stolen from Van

A complainant reported at 3:17 p.m. that a book containing customer checks was stolen from his unlocked van while it was parked in front of a business on the 0-100 block of South La Grange Road.

Fraudulent Comcast Account

A resident of the 300 block of Kensington Avenue reported at 9:45 a.m. that someone had fraudulently used her husband’s information to open a Comcast account.


Guy Leaves Hospital with IV

The Adventist La Grange emergency room advised police at 6:47 p.m. that one of their patients had walked out of the hospital with an IV in his arm “to smoke a cigarette off campus somewhere.” The patient, a 37-year-old North Riverside resident, was later located by North Riverside police and advised to return to the ER to have his IV removed.

Battery Incident and Charge

Tyler Tentinger, 19, of the 400 block of South La Grange Road, was charged with battery after being involved in an incident over a “small amount of money” that occurred at 3:10 p.m. on the same block, police said.

Homeless and Drunk in Waiola

A caller reported an intoxicated man in Waiola Park at 10:49 a.m. Police approached a 26-year-old homeless man, brought him to the station, and provided information on the BEDS program and treatment for alcohol addiction.


Smashing Pumpkins

A resident on the 500 block of South Waiola Avenue reported at 8:55 p.m. that someone had smashed multiple pumpkins in the street. Police were unable to locate any potential suspects.

Hit-and-Run I

A driver struck the left rear side of another car while it was turning at the corner of La Grange Road and Elm Avenue at 4:45 p.m. and left the scene.

Hit-and-Run II

A driver struck the front end of a car parked on the 100 block of South Brainard Avenue at around 5:30 a.m. and left the scene.


Arrest on Countryside Warrant

Jessica M. Colon, 28, of the 800 block of South La Grange Road, was approached by officers at that address at 5:51 p.m. and arrested on an outstanding Countryside warrant, police said. The defendant was turned over to Countryside police.

Peed on My Garage

Police responded at 5:27 p.m. to the 100 block of Hayes Avenue where a woman was reporting that she had confronted a homeless man urinating on her garage. Police gave the man a warning for criminal damage to property and told him to stay away in the future.
