Men Yell, Strip Down in Fight Outside Church 

Police broke up an argument between two homeless men who were yelling and threatening people and taking their clothes off outside the First Congregational Church at 100 S. 6th Ave. about noon.

Boy Tries to Set Napkin on Fire in School

A woman reported her 11-year-old son for trying to set a napkin on fire at St. John Luther School earlier in the week. The boy was given a detention and assigned an essay on the danger of fires, police said.

Cat Fight on Bluff 

A man reported a fight outside 315 Bluff Ave. about 11 p.m. Police found the two women involved in the fight tugging and pulling on each other while a man tried to separate them. One of the women told police the other woman punched her. The other woman told police her extensions were pulled out and the other woman spit in her face. The man told police he'd been drinking with one of them. No one was arrested or charged. The woman with spit in her face refused medical attention.

Friends Really Don't Let Friends Drive Drunk 

A woman reported she heard female voices yelling and possibly fighting in the parking garage in the 0-100 block of South 6th Avenue about 12:40 a.m. Police talked to two women in the garage, who told police they didn’t want their drunk friend to drive home, and were going to drive to her home in the 0-100 block of Stone Avenue to make sure she got home OK.

Bones in Yard?

A woman reported she saw bones lying in the grass near the northwest corner of Franklin and Bluff about 2:15 p.m. Police were unable to find them.

Running Car Stolen at Gas Station

A Chicago man reported someone stole his tan 2001 Buick that he left running while he ran into a gas station in the 6100 block of North Avenue about 7:15 p.m. Police said the suspect is a man with a thin build, who was wearing a black hooded jacket, a red shirt, dark jeans and dark shoes with white trim. The car was last seen going east through the gas station lot. The total estimated loss is $6,000, police said.

Hair Snippers Get Clipped

Someone broke the front passenger window of a black 2002 Infiniti parked in the 800 block of Garfield Avenue between 2 and 5:30 p.m. and stole a laptop and a set of hair clippers from the trunk. The total estimated loss is $950, police said.

Don't Forget the Vino

Someone stole a projector TV, a laptop and a bottle of wine from a garden apartment in the 0-100 block of Washington Boulevard between 11:20 a.m. and about 6 p.m. The total estimated loss is $1,855, police said.

Steal-Worthy Diaper Bag

An unknown burglar broke into a car parked in the Spring Rock parking lot on Central Avenue between 10:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. and stole a diaper bag that, including its contents, was valued at $50, police said.

Forced entry to the car was made through a driver's side rear window, police said.
