No Drunken Driving Arrests during St. Patrick’s Day Weekend
Western Springs police did, however, make 58 stops for various traffic violations over the three-day holiday weekend.
No one was arrested for impaired driving during the Western Springs Police Department's three-day St. Patrick's Day enforcement campaign, the department said.
There were plenty of citations, however, for other violations on village roads:
- 58 traffic stops
- 40 written warnings
- 28 citations
Forty percent of the violations were for speeding, police said.

The department issues roughly 30 traffic citations on a typical, nonholiday weekend, Deputy Chief Brian Budds said.
