Ogden Crosswalk Signal Hit and Run

An unknown driver struck a pedestrian crossing traffic pole on the north side of Ogden Avenue at the crosswalk by Woodland Avenue, and left the scene without notifying police. The damage likely occurred overnight between Friday night and Saturday morning.

Driver's Suspended License

Thomas W. Leonchik, 53, of 7811 W. 65th St., Bedford Park, was stopped at the corner of 55th Street and Willow Springs Road in connection with driving on a suspended registration plate, according to reports. Police said he was charged with driving with a suspended license.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 14

Arguer Charged with Resisting Arrest

Police said John C. Habian, 21, of 10840 Cantigny Road, Countryside, was arrested after officers responded to a verbal disturbance between two men outside a home on the 4400 block of Harvey Avenue at 3:10 a.m. Habian was charged with disorderly conduct and with physically resisting a police officer arrest, according to reports. No injuries were sustained in the incident.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 12

Disorderly Conduct Citation

A 39-year-old Western Springs man was issued a local ordinance citation related to disorderly conduct at 7:12 p.m. on the 1000 block of Burlington Avenue after police responded to reports of a man causing a verbal public disturbance.

Jewelry Stolen in Home Burglary

Someone entered an unlocked, unoccupied home on the 4300 block of Lawn Avenue sometime between 8:30 and 9 a.m. and reportedly stole assorted jewelry from the home's master bedroom. The jewelry's value has not been estimated at this time.
