Van Crosses Yellow Lines, Hits Car on OgdenSomeone crossed the double yellow lines on Ogden Avenue and side-swiped a Pontiac Grand Am about 2:20 a.m. and continued driving west on Ogden, police said. The driver of the Pontiac, a 36-year-old Arlington Heights woman, told police the car was a white van, police said. No one was injured.

Woman Hits Parked CarA 79-year-old Downers Grove woman in a 2003 Dodge Caravan struck the driver's side mirror of a parked 2005 Hyundai about 12:35 p.m. in the 4100 block of Gilbert Avenue. The parked car was occupied by a 16-year-old Western Springs girl. No one was injured, police said.
One Injured in 4-Car CrashOne woman was injured and one man was charged after a crash involving four cars at the intersection of Ogden and Woodland avenues about 5 p.m. Police charged Cirilo Galvan, 40, of Aurora, with failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and following too closely in a Dodge Ram after he rear-ended a Ford Freestar, which hit the back of a Beetle, pushing it into a Subaru, police said. The woman's injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
Hit and RunSomeone hit a 2013 Toyota Camry parked in the 3900 block of Johnson Avenue about 4:30 p.m.
TUESDAY, AUGUST 13
One Injured in Wolf Road CrashPolice cited Jane Adair, 88, of the 5800 block of Wolf Road in Western Springs with failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash about 11:20 a.m. in the 4700 block of Wolf Road. Police said Adair, who drove a 1993 Toyota Camry, rear-ended a 2002 Saturn Vue driven by a 22-year-old Willow Springs woman. Adair sustained minor injuries, police said.
Teen Cited for Failure to YieldPolice cited a 16-year-old Western Springs boy with failure to yield after he collided with another car during a left turn on Central Avenue. The teen told police he was driving south on Central about 5:30 p.m. and stopped during a left turn into the 7-Eleven parking lot to let a biker pass, police said. The driver of the second car, a 57-year-old Glendale Heights man, told police he was driving north on Central and struck the teen's front bumper when the teen tried to turn in front of him, police said. No one was injured.
