SATURDAY, NOV. 2

Truck Hits Traffic Standard


Michael Newman Maguire, 25, of the 100 block of Evans Avenue, Toronto, was cited for disobeying a traffic control device and failure to report an accident, police said, after his 2012 Freightliner truck struck a traffic standard at the intersection of Ogden and Gilbert avenues while he was turning right from Ogden to Gilbert at 4:02 p.m.

No injuries were reported, but the truck was damaged.

FRIDAY, NOV. 1

Hit and Run Reported


An unknown driver in an unknown white vehicle struck an unoccupied 2010 Honda CR-V parked in the Dominick's parking lot at 5:08 p.m., police said. The Honda was damaged. 

THURSDAY, OCT. 31

Rear-End Accident


Hicham A. Omari, 40, of the 5500 block of South Madison Street, Hinsdale, was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, police said, after his 2003 Dodge van traveling north on Wolf Road at 5:06 p.m. rear-ended a 2006 Toyota Yaris that had slowed to turn left onto 53rd Street. 

No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were damaged.

TUESDAY, OCT. 29

Driver Without License Causes Accident


Enrique Chavez, 49, of the 5300 block of McVicker Avenue, Chicago, was cited for driving without a license and insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, police said, after his 2002 Ford Explorer struck the rear end of a 2006 Acura TL on Wolf Road near Ogden Avenue. 

Chavez's Explorer was stopped the intersection's traffic light directly behind the Acura, waiting to travel north through the intersection. Police said when the left-turn light went green, Chavez pulled forward and into the Acura. 

A passenger in the Acura suffered a minor injury. Both vehicles were damaged.

Look Both Ways


Arlene R. Buehler, 77, of the 4200 block of Linden Avenue, Western Springs, was cited for failure to yield, police said, after a 2009 Toyota Corolla traveling eastbound on 47th Street near Harvey Avenue struck the driver's side of Buehler's 2008 Honda Accord as she attempted to turn left out of a parking lot at 3:05 p.m.

No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were damaged.

Pedestrian, Driver Both Cited After Collision


A driver and a pedestrian were cited for failure to yield after the driver's SUV hit the pedestrian at the intersection of Johnson and Hillgrove avenues at 8:25 a.m., police said.

Janet C. Remiker, 54, of the 4700 block of Grand Avenue, Western Springs, was traveling south on Johnson in a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe when, after stopping for the stop sign at Hillgrove, she hit a woman running across the intersection. 

A witness said the minivan and the pedestrian, Kristen C. Fleming, of the 4200 block of Ellington Avenue, Western Springs, came into the crosswalk at the same time. Therefore, police said, both were cited for failure to yield.

Fleming was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Remiker's vehicle was damaged.
