SUNDAY, JULY 29

Solar Lighting Damaged in Forest Hills

An unknown offender damaged several landscaping solar lights in a residential yard on the 4800 block of Central Avenue at around 11 p.m. Saturday. The incident was reported at 9:07 a.m. Sunday. The damage was estimated at $25.

Underage Drinking Charge on Wolf Road

Police charged a 19-year-old Western Springs woman with consumption of alcohol by a minor after officers said they found her intoxicated on the 4600 block of Wolf Road at 5:32 a.m.

Skateboard Returned to Owner

A 17-year-old Western Springs boy was issued two local ordinance citations for theft and consumption of alcohol by a minor at 1:35 a.m. after police stopped him on the 4700 block of Lawn Avenue and confirmed that he had been drinking and had stolen the skateboard from a front porch. The skateboard was returned to its owner.

Arson Charge in Garage Fire

A 14-year-old Western Springs boy was arrested and charged with arson and criminal damage to property at 5:51 p.m. after police confirmed his role in "general juvenile mischief" to ignite a private detached garage on the 1100 block of Hillgrove Avenue. The fire was extinguished by the Western Springs and Hinsdale fire departments with no damage to the interior or its contents; the total amount of the damage was not estimated. Police said there was no personal target to the alleged arson.

Unlocked Bike Stolen from Station

An unlocked bike was reported stolen from a bike rack on the 900 block of Burlington Avenue sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 9:40 p.m. The value of the bike was estimated at $200.

Screaming Drunk Kids in the Downtown?

Two 17-year-old Western Springs boys and a 16-year-old Western Springs boy were issued local ordinance citations for consumption of alcohol by a minor after being observed "yelling loudly" while walking near the corner of Wolf Road and Burlington Avenue at around 1:12 a.m.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 25

Field Park Break-in and Robbery

Someone reportedly forced entry into an unoccupied home on the 4200 block of Ellington Avenue sometime between 7:15 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. through a rear first-story window. Reportedly stolen were several items of jewelry and a laptop computer. The value of the items was not estimated.

MONDAY, JULY 23

Driver with Revoked License

David H. Evans, 57, of 60 Ascot Lane #2524, Willowbrook was stopped at the corner of Hillgrove Avenue and Prospect Avenue where police said he disobeyed a stop sign. He was charged with driving with a revoked driver's license.

Forest Hills Lighting Vandalism (Again)

An unknown offender damaged an "exterior decorative wall-mounted light" on the 4800 block of Central Avenue sometime betwen 7 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday. The damage was not reported until 4:05 p.m. Monday. The replacement cost of the light was estimated at $125.
