Police Blotter: Construction Vehicle Windows Smashed, Iffy Activity on New Year's Eve

Here's the Western Springs police blotter from Dec. 27 through Jan. 3.

Incidents/Reports

Tuesday, Dec. 27, 7:06 a.m.; Criminal Damage to Property: Someone smashed two (2) of the windows on a construction excavator stored in a residential construction site on the 1400 block of Sunset Terrace. The damage occurred between the previous Friday afternon (Dec. 23) and Tuesday morning. The cost to replace the windows was estimated at $600.

Saturday, Dec. 31, 1:20 a.m.; Consumption of Alcohol by Minors: A 19-year-old Western Springs man and an 18-year-old La Grange woman were stopped in a public area on the 4400 block of Lawn Ave and charged with underage consumption of alcohol after an officer confirmed that they had been drinking.

Saturday, Dec. 31, 9:49 a.m.; Driving While License Suspended, No Insurance, Speeding, Expired Registration Displayed: Jose Silva, 49, of 1635 175th St., Hammond, IN, was stopped at the corner of Grand Avenue and Ogden Avenue for speeding and was charged with driving with a suspended license.
