Police Blotter: Driver Attacks Officer With Car Door, $4,000 Florida Forger

Friday, Jul. 1, 1:24 p.m.; Forgery, Identity Theft: On June 15, someone used the personal checking account of a victim on the 5100 block of Harvey Avenue to make two purchases in Florida totalling approximately $4,182.

Charges/Citations

Tuesday, Jun. 28, 3:38 p.m.; Reckless Conduct, Failure to Wear Seat Belt: Norman J. Frieze, 43, of 4211 Grove Ave., was stopped on the corner of Elm Street and Wolf Road for failing to wear a seat belt. During the stop, he twice "forcefully" opened the driver's door towards the officer, causing the officer to step into roadway traffic. The defendant was charged with reckless conduct as well as failure to wear a seat belt.

Thursday, Jun. 30, 11:25 p.m.; Driving While License Suspended, No Insurance, Speeding: Joy M. Rivas, 21, of 1024 Spaulding Ave., Chicago, was stopped at the corner of Odgen Avenue and Johnson Avenue for speeding and was found to be driving with a suspended license.
