Laptop Stolen in Smash and Grab: Western Springs Police Blotter

Bike Stolen From Church Rack

An unlocked and unattended men's bike was stolen sometime between 10 a.m. and noon. The bike had an estimated value of $150 and was left in a church bike rack on the 5000 block of Caroline Avenue.

Window Smashed, Computer Stolen

A laptop computer was reported stolen from a car at 4:09 a.m. on the 4100 block of Central Avenue. The locked car was entered when the offender smashed the rear passenger window during the early morning hours. Police don't know the value of the computer at this time.

Minor with Alcohol

A 15-year-old Western Springs boy was arrested and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor on the 4900 block of Gilbert Avenue at 7:33 p.m., police said. Western Spring police were called to the Corral at Lyons Township High School's South Campus and told there was an intoxicated minor there.

Drug Paraphernalia

A 37-year-old Western Springs man, who lives on the 4000 block of Central Avenue, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at Hillgrove and Howard avenues at about 9:42 a.m., police said. Police were responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle. When approaching the car, the officer saw drug paraphernalia in plain view in the front passenger area of the vehicle.
