Western Springs Home Burglarized, Jewelry Stolen

Criminal Damage Reported


An unknown person intentionally damaged a windowpane located in the rear of a vacant commercial building in the 4700 block of Commonwealth Avenue, police said. 

The damage took place some time during a six-week period before it was reported at 4:34 p.m. on Jan. 7. It did not appear that entry was made to the building. 

Burglary on Grand Avenue


An unknown burglar forced entry to a home in the 4800 block of Grand Avenue between 12:30 p.m. Jan. 6 and 6:45 p.m. Jan. 7 and stole an undetermined amount of jewelry from the home's master bedroom, police said.

Entry was made through a side entry door. The home was unoccupied at the time of the burglary.
