Man Charged After Resisting Officers

Michael C. Hollinger, 44, of the 4000 block of Western Avenue, Western Springs, was charged with resisting a police officer and obstructing the performance of a peace officer after he "physically obstructed and resisted the efforts" of officers responding to a 1:44 a.m. disturbance call from the man's residence on Dec. 15, police said.

Hollinger was not formally charged until 1:35 p.m. Dec. 17 because he suffered minor injuries during the incident and was transported to an area hospital. No officers were hurt during the incident, police said.

Hollinger was released on bond to appear in court.

Stolen Generator Recovered

Jose M. Abarca, 39, of the 5300 block of North Kimball Avenue, Chicago, was charged with possession of stolen property after a generator that had been stolen from a home in the 4700 block of Fair Elms Avenue during an Oct. 27 garage burglary was found in his possession at 12:12 p.m., police said.

Abarca was released on bond to appear in court. The burglary investigation remains ongoing, police said.
