Church Graffitied, Kids with Fireworks: Western Springs Police Blotter

Suspended License

Marvin Yongblood, 42, of the 700 block of 48th Street, Chicago, was stopped at the corner of 47th Street and Gilbert Avenue at 1:40 p.m. for displaying an expired registration, police said. He was charged with driving with a suspended license.

FRIDAY, OCT. 26

Firework Kids

Three 15-year-old boys, from Western Springs, Burr Ridge and Downers Grove, were found by an officer on the corner of 48th Street and Grand Avenue at 6:59 p.m. and issued local ordinance citations for possession of illegal fireworks on a public road. They were also issued citations for disturbing the peace.

THUSRDAY, OCT. 25

Disturbing Local

A 38-year-old Western Springs man was issued a local ordinance citation at his Old Town North home for disturbing the peace after police were called to a report of a disturbance at a private residence. They found the defendant "causing a verbal disturbance."

"I Got a Rock"

Someone threw a "large rock" through the rear window of a car on the 4500 block of Clausen Avenue sometime between 11:55 p.m. Wednesday and 12:30 a.m. Thursday. No entry was gained to the car and nothing was reported missing from the interior.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 24

Graffiti on a Church

Someone used spray paint and a black marker to deface the exterior wall and door of a church on the 5100 block of Wolf Road sometime between Sunday and Wednesday. The cost of removing the graffiti was $100.

And on Stuff in Spring Rock

Someone defaced an equipment storage box and grill located in the lower level of Spring Rock Park with yellow and black spray paint sometime between Monday and Wednesday. The cost of removing the graffiti was $100.
