Smashed Window Car Burglary, Ogden DUI: Western Springs Police Blotter

Western Springs police reports, Jan. 15-22.

SUNDAY, JAN. 20

Sunday Morning DUI

Anthony J. Deacy, 49, of the 1200 block of Leverenz Road, Naperville, was stopped for speeding at the corner of Ogden Avenue and I-294 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after failing field sobriety tests, police said. The defendant was also charged with failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Parked Car Window Damaged

Someone used an undetermined object to damage the rear passenger window of a car parked in a residential driveway on the 4300 block of Franklin Avenue sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 8:05 p.m. Nothing was reported disturbed or taken from the car.

Illegal Driver I

Enrique Martinez-Mendez, 37, of the 1900 block of S. 49th Court, Cicero, was stopped for speeding at the corner of Ogden and Howard avenues at 8:22 p.m. and was charged with driving without a license, police said.

Smashed Car Window Burglary

Someone forced entry into a car parked in the Theatre of Western Springs parking lot (4300 block of Hampton Avenue) between 8:00 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. and stole a woman's purse containing "various credit cars and other items." The offender broke into the car by smashing the front passenger side window. The total value of the purse was not estimated.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 16

Illegal Driver II

Ian D. Gwin, 37, of the 14400 block of Lincoln Avenue, Dolton, was stopped at the corner of Hillgrove Avenue and Wolf Road for improper display of a registration plate at 4:28 p.m. and was charged with driving with a revoked license and an outstanding traffic warrant, police said.

LTHS South Drug Bust I

A 15-year-old La Grange girl was issued a local ordinance citation for possession of drug paraphernalia after being found in possession of "an item used for drug paraphernalia" at Lyons Township High School South Campus at 10:20 a.m.

LTHS South Drug Bust II

A 16-year-old La Grange boy was issued a local ordinance citation for possession of cannabis after being found in possession of a small amount of suspected marijuana at Lyons Township High School South Campus at 8:20 a.m.
