Backpack Stolen, Underage Drinkers on New Year's: Western Springs Police Blotter

Underage Drinking I

A 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old man, both of Western Springs, were issued local ordinance citations for underage consumption of alcohol after police responded to a disturbance on the 3800 block of Forest Avenue at 1:40 a.m., police said.No physical confrontations were reported.

Illegal Driver

Josephine Lopez, 24, of the 2300 block of West Cullerton Avenue, Chicago, was stopped on the 3900 block of Hampton Avenue at 10:35 p.m. for driving with a missing taillight and was charged with driving without a valid license, police said.

Underage Drinking II

A 20-year-old woman, 18-year-old woman and 17-year-old girl, all from La Grange, and a 19-year-old Western Springs man, were issued local ordinance citations for underage consumption of alcohol after the car in which they were riding was stopped for a traffic violation on the 4600 block of Clausen Avenue, police said.

MONDAY, DEC. 31

Backpack Stolen from Dominick's

Police recieved a report that someone stole a backpack that had been left unattended in a shopping cart at the Garden Market Dominick's, 4700 Gilbert Avenue, sometime on Friday between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The backpack contained credit cards and personal documents, but its value was not estimated.
