Western Springs Police Mobilize for May Seat Belt Enforcement Patrols

Western Springs police will be aggressively enforcing seat belt and child safety seat laws through Memorial Day as part of statewide "Click It of Ticket" campaign.


Western Springs Police will be aggressively enforcing seat belt and child safety seat laws as part of the statewide “Click It or Ticket” campaign beginning May 9 through May 26.

Police officers will be conducting a series of visible enforcement zones, in which occupants of vehicles not wearing seat belts or children not secured in safety seats, will be directed to another officer who’ll issue citations.

Western Springs is partnering up with Illinois State Police and 500 local police agencies during the Memorial Day holiday period.

During Memorial Day 2013, three fatalities and 600 injuries on Illinois roadways. Two of those fatalities were alcohol-related.

Police say regular seat belt use is the best defense against impaired, aggressive or distracted drivers, so buckle up.
