Woman Picked Up on Warrant for Prostitution Offense


Western Springs police arrested Lavonia D. Moody, 24, of the 0-100 block of Yates Avenue, Calumet City, on a warrant for failure to appear in court for a prostitution offense after she was stopped for driving with one headlight near the intersection of Ogden and Johnson avenues at 12:05 a.m., according to the police department's weekly crime report.

The arrest warrant was out of Muscatine County, IA. Western Springs police charged Moody with driving with one headlight, without insurance, and without a valid license. 

After being detained at the Western Springs Police Department, Moody was eventually transported to the Cook County Fugitive Warrant Division in Maywood, Deputy Chief Brian Budds said.

Driver Involved in Accident Without License


Enrique Chavez, 49, of the 5300 block of North McVicker Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving without a valid license, driving without insurance, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, police said after he was involved in a minor crash in the 3800 block of Wolf Road at 7:32 p.m. and officers confirmed he was without a license.

Chavez was released on his own recognizance with court information.
