WSPD Among Departments Assisting in O'Laughlin Murder Case

The Western Springs police department is among the many local departments who have contributed members to the investigation.

Police officers from the are among those investigating the slaying of Indian Head Park resident and Lyons Township High School freshman Kelli O'Laughlin.

"The WSPD is indeed among the many Task Force agencies assisting IHP," confirmed Deputy Chief Brian Budds of the Department in a brief e-mail. "We have two officers that are assisting."

Indian Head Park police chief Frank Alonzo that multiple departments, including the Cook County Sherrif's Police Department, are now involved in the investigation.

“This is beyond the boundaries of Indian Head Park,” Alonzo said.

Alonzo also said that at any given time, approximately 40 officers from various departments in the area are investigating the killing.
