WSPD Blotter: Crime-Free Week 'First in Five Years'

Crime of any notable sort took the last week off in Western Springs as the police department has officially reported: nothing to report!

Typically, this is where the Western Springs police blotter would go. Except this week, there is no Western Springs police blotter... !

That's right, our little town pitched a perfect week, with zero arrests or crime reports worthy of note from May 28 through June 4, 2012, according to the .

Western Springs Deputy Chief of Police Brian Budds said it was the first time in at least five years—as long as he has been doing crime reports for Western Springs—that this has happened.

"I guess that is a good thing, right?" Budds remarked in the Department's weekly e-mail.

Fantastic for the Village, absolutely! So who's going to be the first knucklehead to break the streak? (Okay, that's not an invitation to be bad-mannered, and please do report it if something happens to you or your property.)
