Roadway Construction Tentatively Set for May 26 at 43rd Street and Howard

Western Springs village staff and contractors are out now performing pre-construction work.

Roadway construction is tentatively scheduled to begin on the week of May 26 at 43rd Street and Howard Avenue in Western Springs.

Construction will begin after the Memorial Day holiday. The village is currently working with Nicor to resolve a minor conflict between a gas main and sewer. Once the conflict is resolved then another message will be posted with the official start day.

The first phase of the project will focus on the installation of the new 12-inch storm sewer on the east side of Howard Avenue from Hillgrove to 43rd. There will also be minimal spot repair work on the existing sewer in the middle of the roadway. Residents will continue to have access to their driveway except for short periods of time when the contractor is working in front of your home.
