Western Springs Debuts New Village Web Site

The village says the new website will offer a number of improved services to Western Springs residents.

The Village of Western Springs debuted its spiffy new official village website—wsprings.com—on January 1.

The redesigned site offers a cleaner look with a stylish new logo and a sky-blue and tree-green backdrop image of a village street. Prominent links on the main page offer a community forum, a way to report problems, and signups for notifications and CodeRED.

According to an article in Tower Topics, "the goal of the web site redevelopment project was to improve the graphics, navigation, functionality and communication of the previous web site.

"The new site is fresh, lively and more engaging for you. Real-time updates to the site and the calendar will now enable residents and businesses to see all Village meetings and events in one place," the village newsletter added.

The village said that some of the site's new features include:

  • Better search capability.
  • A way to personalize the website for a better individual experience.
  • A "Notify Me" system to recieve Village updates.
  • A way to download an app to track Village Citizen Requests.
  • A "How Do I?" dropdown menu offering quick links to frequently asked questions.

"Please take some time and explore the new site and learn about all the ways you can stay informed and engaged with the Village of Western Springs," the web site says.

The site was developed and is hosted by Civic Plus of Manhattan, KS. Civic Plus was .

Thirty large down the toilet while we wait (and wait and wait and wait) for any concrete information about the water plant fiasco. Perfect.

It won't allow me to create a profile or sign in if I already have one. I looked for information regarding the water plant upgrade, it was deeply imbedded in archived news letters. My computer froze when I tried to bring up the news lettter. In my opinion the old web site worked just fine. What is the latest status on the water?

Same as the website...a disgrace.

What is that wierd white "swoosh" supposed to represent? It looks very odd. First off all, the Tower is hovering above the disconnected street scene below it, then that swoosh appears out of nowhere like Tinkerbell's trail. Agree with the above posters: WHAT is going on with the water plant? How about an update from the Village! Disgraceful. Spend the $30,000 on speeding up the construction of the water plant, not an already-functioning website.
