Music and Drama Camp Rocked!

The Presbyterian Church of Western Springs held its Music and Drama Camp last week. Check out our photo gallery to see shots of the cast of the musical "The Lost Boy."

PCWS hosted Music and Drama Camp (MAD Camp) from June 18 to 24.  15 children participated in the camp and completed their week with two wonderful performances of The Lost Boy.   Check out our photo gallery for some shots of the cast and crew.

The Lost Boy is a musical by Tom S. Long and Allen Pote.  The musical takes place during Jesus’ childhood.  In it, Mary and Joseph travel to Jerusalem to present Jesus at the temple.  On their way home, they realize Jesus is not with them.  The concerned parents look all over and finally find him in Jerusalem, teaching in the temple.  The show was full of upbeat musical numbers and funny dialogue.

Under the direction of Alison Siener Brown, MAD Campers spent the week learning their lines, rehearsing the music and choreography, building props, helping to decorate the set, and fine-tuning costumes.  It was a great experience for the kids participating---they learned a lot and had a terrific time!

The Lost Boy was performed on Saturday, June 23 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Aurora.  On Sunday, June 24, it was presented at PCWS.  Both shows were a success thanks to the hard work of the MAD Camp leaders and cast.  Many thanks to all who participated in MAD Camp to make it a fun, enriching week for the kids.
