Rally Day Kicks Off a New Year at PCWS

The Presbyterian Church of Western Springs is saying goodbye to summer and hello to a new Sunday School year with Rally Day and you are welcome to come!

Now that Labor Day has come and gone and the kids are back in school, we have to acknowledge that maybe…just maybe…summer really is coming to a close.  To enjoy every last bit of the warm weather and summer sunshine, the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs (PCWS) is hosting Rally Day this Sunday, September 9.

Rally Day marks the kick-off to a new Sunday School year and we’ll be doing a lot to celebrate---outdoor worship, a barbeque and tons of games and activities for kids of all ages.

We’ll be holding outdoor worship at 9:30am.  Dress casually for worship and for the Rally Day fun to follow.  After worship, children will meet their Sunday School teachers for this year and then join the fun on the lawn.

There will be games and activities for all ages, possibly including:

  • An inflatable jump toy
  • Face painting
  • Bozo buckets
  • A popcorn machine
  • Mind and card games
  • A water balloon toss
  • Watermelon seed spitting contest
  • Lots of outdoor games and contests for kids of all ages

Join us for the “Taste of Wisconsin” barbeque featuring grilled brats, sausage and hot dogs.  We’ll of course have vegetarian options and plenty of tasty side dishes.  There will be delicious treats and desserts too.

It’s a great day in the life of PCWS as we launch a new Sunday School year and we hope you can join us.  Visitors are welcome.  Remember to dress casually to enjoy all the outdoor fun.

For more information, please contact the PCWS church office at 708-246-5220 or visit www.presbyws.org.  PCWS is located at 5250 Wolf Road in Western Springs.

My understanding was that the village only bought it so they could split the back yard off from theRead More main lot use the back lot for some kind of village use with the rec center and then sell off the house. The original lot used to go all the way back to the rec center.

Fatness, the board section is meant for community members to enter their own announcements. HeadRead More over to the news section of the site if you're interested in other types of articles.

So it is an ad then. Glad to see AOL isn't letting ethics get in the way of their sales goals.Read More Is't a press release. Did you go to J school or just walked in one day and were hired because nobody else applied? WHEN DO WE GET SOME ACTUAL NEWS ON PATCH?

Why so cruel just because you don't like the section of the site that lets anyone post what theyRead More want, including, yes, press releases?
