LT South Campus Loses Power, Classes Dismissed Early

Lyons Township freshman and sophomores got an early weekend release after power went out at the Western Springs campus.

Electrical power went out at the Lyons Township High School South Campus on Friday afternoon at approimately noon, forcing adminstrators to dismiss all South Campus students (freshmen and sophomores) at 1:45 p.m.

Students were instructed to remain in their classrooms for the duration of the outage, before they were released nearly two hours later.

The given reason for the release, in a message sent to local parents, was that "no lunch services are available." The school also consulted with local power provider ComEd, and learned that power was expected to be out for at least four hours.
