2012 Little League Matt Orth Awards and All-Star Rosters

Complete list of Western Springs Little League's 2012 sportsmanship awards and rosters for summer travel-team competition.

The Western Springs Little League presented its 2012 Matt Orth Good Sport Awards in on Saturday afternoon as the league, having finished its ordinary season, prepared for summer competition against neighboring towns (and hopefully beyond as well.)

The Matt Orth awards, first given in 2002 and dedicated to a local Little Leaguer who lost his life to cancer at the age of 11, recognize one player from each of the Village’s youth baseball and softball teams who demonstrates a particularly high degree of sportsmanship.

“I think this is a best thing we do as a league,” said Western Springs Little League presenter John Best. “These players have each been selected by their team or by their coaches as the player who best exemplifies the qualities of a good sport.
