2013 Lyons Township Football Schedule Released

LT starts its season at home Aug. 30 against Warren. Find out when the Lions take on Hinsdale Central, Glenbard West and other top rivals.

The turn of August into September is always bittersweet, because while it means an end to summer it also signals the start of the best season: football.

The IHSA released Lyons Township's 2013 football schedule, and it begins at home Aug. 30 against Warren, a 5-5 team in 2012.

LT finishes its non-conference slate in the first three weeks, with a Week 2 home game against Willowbrook (6-4) and a trip to Leyden (7-3).

A tough stretch begins Sept. 20 against the defending Class 7A state champion, Glenbard West. Following that is two straight weeks on the road at Downers Grove North (7-5), which made a surprise run to the 7A state quarterfinals, and rival Hinsdale Central (7-3).

Even if the Lions slip up during that stretch, they finish the season with a very winnable three games, as they did last year to finish the regular season 5-4. LT followed that with an upset of Marist in the playoffs and a run to the Class 8A quarterfinals.

The Homecoming game this year is Oct. 12 vs. Oak Park-River Forest. LT will play at Hinsdale Central's Homecoming a week earlier.

The complete schedule is below. The teams' 2012 records are in parentheses.
