2013 Nazareth Football Schedule Released

Nazareth opens its 2013 campaign Aug. 31 at Proviso East. See the rest of the schedule, including big games against Marist and Benet, and its Homecoming game.

Switching from August to September is always bittersweet, because while it means an end to summer it also signals the start of the best season: football.

The IHSA released Nazareth's 2013 football schedule, and it begins Saturday, Aug. 31 with an afternoon trip to Proviso East, which was winless in 2012.

Nazareth's conference slate begins Sept. 13 at powerhouse Marist (8-2), which won at Naz last year on a last-second field goal. The following week, Joliet Catholic comes to Nazareth.

The Roadrunners finish with two games against teams that had poor records last season: non-conference opponent Riverside-Brookfield (2-7) and conference rival Marian Catholic (1-8).

The Homecoming game this year is Oct. 5 vs. Notre Dame (Niles). Last year, Nazareth finished 5-4 but missed the playoffs.

The complete schedule is below. The teams' 2012 records are in parentheses.
