This 8k (5.5 mile) event is to benefit Kathryn Mahoney. Kathryn is a Western Springs resident and a student at Michigan State University. She is a member of MSU’s women’s gymnastics team. In late December 2010 Kathryn fractured her spinal cord while practicing, leaving her with paralysis from the chest down. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to Kathryn’s fund as she plans to return to MSU and finish her degree in chemical engineering and continue with physical therapy.
All participants will receive a dry-fit t-shirt and other goodies, as well as tickets for raffle prizes!
Danada Preserve is on Naperville Road, 1 mile South of Butterfield (Rte 56) and .75 mile North of I-88.
